I ran Bad Kansas City using DCC (kind of).
Here are some add-on rules we used.
When you open up with a Tommy gun, you can attack up to three times. Each attack uses up 1d6 shots from your magazine. (The famous drum magazine holds 15 'shots' -- not a precise number of bullets, because that would be impossible for you to judge.)
When you reload a Tommy gun, make an Agility test against a difficulty of 6 to do it without spending your action for the round.
When you scarf down a fistful of horse tranquilizers, spend a round not moving or taking any other action and regain HP from the stock of your "special medicine" (typically 10). The number of HP you regain is also the target number for your Fortitude save to not have a heart attack next round.
