Fight the Power Word, Kill

no we're not the same 'cause we don't know the game

Hard-boiled moves

I'm listening to an audiobook of Raymond Chandler's The High Window. The book is good although the reader, who to be fair handles the character voices well, keeps putting the emphasis on the wrong words, in ways that sometimes make it hard to understand. It's like he records each sentence in isolation with no knowledge of anything before or after it in the book. And his Marlowe comes across as far too abrasive. But anyway.

When you travel to a new location, roll +Sharp. On a 10+ say whether or not you are being followed. On a 7-9, the GM tells you whether or not you are being followed.

When you take a beating, roll +Hard. On a 10+ describe the location you wake up in. On a 7-9, ask the GM to describe the immediate surroundings of where you wake up, then you describe how you can escape.
